Kids say the darndest things...

Today while at work a 3 yr. old little girl by the name of Ashley was waiting for her mom to get her hairdo fixed. Over all she kept herself pretty busy and out of the way (which is hard in a big salon with so many sissors, hairdryers, shampoo bowls, hair, etc.lying around). She was well prepared with fun toy options. Ashley decided to draw a picture. She turned to her mom and said..." Mom, what should I freakin' draw you?" The greatest part is that her mom didn't even think twice about it. Maybe that is bad, but I thought it was pretty darn good! THREE YEARS OLD!!!!

Thank you Ashley! Thank you for making my day!

No more Mexican food before dinner...

Ok, so check it...Last night I had a dream that I was hanging out with The Duggar Family ( they are from Arkansas and are pregnant with their 18th child, no multiples. Crazy!). In my dream we were acting out "The Sound of Music" as an activity during their home school time with their mom Michelle. Don't ask. I don't know why. That'll teach me to eat at Los Hermanos before going to bed!!!

wicked awesome!

i don't just say that cause i'm from boston. it really was.
the show last night was amazing. i totally enjoyed it. i was so into it that i admit, two tears slipped out when the girls say "for good". and i loved fiero. he was adorable and totally believable for me (the last one wasn't and i wasn't sure anyone could measure up to joey mcintyre, my first fiero). the music was great, the voices sounded incredible, at least to my untrained ear. i love the theatre and i love getting sucked into a good show. (i wish i was more eloquent with my description, so pardon my lame attempt....)

it was a great birthday present. thank you courtney, shaun, chad and brian.

(george or chad...if you get pictures from brian post them here too!)

It was a sister act...

Here's to the two nuns that pulled up next to me at a stoplight in a black 2008 Maxima. I believe that it was Maxi'nun' enjoyment!!!

Thanks for the Cow

http://www.pridesoccer.com/PrideClassic/images/CHICKFILA-3COW.jpg
Today Xander had a little lesson in being grateful. We went to dinner tonight at a pizza buffet with games and TVs and all you can eat pizza, it was fun and we got full. When we were done eating I took Cassidy and headed to the car. A white jeep with cow spots passed by us as we were walking into the parking lot( it was a big Wal-Mart parking lot). When Cassidy and I had reached the car a man walks up to us and gives Cassidy a little bag with a toy inside (the kind that you would get in a happy meal). Upon further inspection I recognized it as being a Chick-fil-A cow. The man also gave me a coupon for a free kids meal at a Chick-fil-a. I was a bit surprised at his gesture, but Cassidy seemed to love it. When I opened the plastic for her she yelled out "HORSEY." Xander ,Sarah, and Rachel hadn't quite made it to the car yet. I thanked the man for the gift and had Cass do the same. As he left he saw Sarah walking toward me an kind of peered around the cars abit. When he realized that there was another child he went back to his car and got another cow and another coupon card. He then came back and gave it to Xander. As he was handing it to Xander, Xander took the toy and snatched the coupon out of the man's hands and half mumbled half growled something that might have been a GGRRThannnkkkssss. Rachel thanked the man and tried to get Xander to do the same but in the proper tone. Sarah and I were on the other side of the car and when we saw what had happened became a bit embarrassed. We decided to get Xander to write the man a note thanking him for the gift and to apologize to him. So Sarah found some paper and had him slowly and painfully write the generous man a note saying just that and then he signed it. As Sarah gave it to me to put it on the man's car, she was almost in tears for how it affected her seeing Xander write that note.(all I have ever seen him write is his name) I just hope that next time someone does something nice for him he will remember this and be a little nicer and appreciative to them.

X-man

Xander the "X-man" Little has started his pursuit of baseball greatness today. (His coach calls him X-man) Today was his first day of t-ball. He has been soooooo excited about starting and today was the day. He got there and first thing they had him in the batting cages. He did some fielding and he wants to go back. On the way home he said" Dad, I want to bat" I think he will get plenty of chances to do that. We will keep everyone up on how he does. I can't wait to get some video of his games. They will be instant classics. He also has one of his friends from church that is on his team. This kid is just as into sports as Xander. This should be a fun season.

Bad day at the Bank!!!

I just need to share to all what happened to me at the bank on Tuesday. An older man came in and asked me to cash a check for him that wasn't written to him at all. "I'm sorry sir, the check has to actually be written to you and it is not. I'm afraid that I cannot do that for you." That seems like a polite enough response right? Well that did not do it for him. He yelled at me and told me that he has "been banking here his whole life and don't understand why you won't do that." I apologize again. End of conversation. He turned around, stomped out of the branch while throwing the door as hard as he could and slamming it to the best of his ability. I kind of laughed and then felt bad that he was so upset over it all. I thought then the normal everyday bank business could go on from there. Boy was I wrong...the next thing I know the old man was blaring his horn while tearing through the drive-up and shooting me the bird!!!! Ha. I didn't know that I could have such an effect on someone. The funniest part of it all was that the check was only for $20.

Only In...New Zealand?

Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii.
I thought Georgia was bad, but NZ? Some part of me really wants to give props to the parents for being so creative, while the other part of me feels awful for that little girl. Read

I hate Walgreens

Ok friends... I have found a new annoying place to visit. Walgreens. I don't know if it is the crazies that are ALWAYS there or if it is because I feel like I need to take a bath to wash the grossness off with hand sanitizer?! Who knows and who cares? But as gross as it is, I secretly LOVE it. And I don't know if it is because I have been so aware of my new favorite gross place or what but I notice them popping up everywhere. And there seems be to little reminders of Walgreens everywhere I go. My latest encounter was while I was driving through Springville I passed a car wash (that was next to my favorite gross place). On the car wash's marquis it read "Cleaniness is next to Walgreen's" Ha! Only in Utah! SO...here's to the crazy lady that kept yelling "mom," the washed up Zach Morris look alike, and the cashier that smelled a little too much like beef jerky! Thanks for the interesting trip to the local drugstore!

back from disney (same as simplysarah, but added picture for chad)

we are back from disney!

what a great trip. i hope to have an entry for each day we were there, but that'll take me the week at least.

disney really is a magical place, and as a mom i really wanted it to be magical for my kids and really get them believing that dreams can come true. you just have to work hard at them!

before we left xander made a comment "someday, i'm going to work for disney". i told him that he could do anything he wanted, "so what do you want to do when you work there?" his response "drive buses!"

love it! now that we've been he's talking about running the place. okay, so maybe we helped that idea along, but with his personality, i don't doubt it. not for a second!

until i get my thoughts together to recount the trip, here are some pictures to peruse.

(we took over 500 pictures - now to scrapbook them!!!)

thank you chad, for our personal meeting with belle. she was beautiful!

Seriously

Why was a woman walking on campus the other day flapping her arms like a bird? Is this some new type of exercise that I haven't seen an infomercial for yet? Doesn't she realize that Body Flex works much better?

I should find her and let her know.

something clever?

must i have something witty or clever to say in order to post? i've put it off because i've nothing of value to add.
so i'll stop agonizing over it and just put my mark on this blog.
hello blog readers! i'm here.
my kids are beautiful, my husband is a life-saver, and the school year is a week and a half away from being over and with it my sanity might be restored.
so here's to the upcoming summer. may it allow me the tranquility and personal reflection i need to wash away the chaos that was this school year and prepare as never before for the 2008-2009 class to come.
consider my mark made!

This is My Favorite....

I so want to have a child that can do this! How do you even teach something like that. Perhaps by example. If that is the case then I should have no problem. I do have a pretty mean evil look!

It makes me laugh everytime!

I'm In Love...

So, I was walking into the subway station in Hong Kong after buying some suits in Mong Kok and my jaw dropped. I think I finally found my one true love...

...Beard Papa!

I never thought that I would be so happy to see that old man's face. I am forever indebted to him for introducing me to the greatest cream puffs ever invented. And what makes me even happier is that there are hundreds of stores in Japan--they even have mango and strawberry flavored ones. Asia is the coolest!

Epidemic

I am really confused on a new growing trend in Utah. I've seen this way too much lately and it's well......disturbing! I think it's great when 2 people meet each other and fall in love. I think it's fine that they are willing to show other people that they love each other as well. I do believe, however, that this should all take place in the appropriate places and at the appropriate times. I think subtle P.D.A. (Public Displays of Affection) is warranted and a great way to express how you feel to others, but what I'm seeing lately goes well beyond the unwritten parameters of proper P.D.A. etiquette. So, here is what I want to know........

Why do people feel the need to hold hands while exercising?!?!

I don't get it! It makes no sense and just looks stupid.

Toss, Toss...

SO today one of my crazy clients who is single and older and a librarian told me very seriously that she has a new dating theory that she is going to try out...See what you think. She says that she has been told by many that what attracts a man to a woman is the hair toss! The hair toss. Who knew. I knew I was doing something wrong all of the years. Maybe I should start doing that. She is. She is trying it for 2 weeks. Watch, she will probably find someone and get married fast. Maybe I should try it. Elphaba did! Toss, toss!!!!

I'm a Blogger!

Well with this post, I have officially become a Blogger! Woo Hoo! I don't really have any funny stories or anecdotes to write yet, but I'm sure I'll have some soon (especially since I just switched to a new ward that is pretty crazy). I still haven't heard anything on the new job, but I'm hoping to by the end of the week. I'll let everybody know as soon as I hear anything.

It's Earth Day today so go hug a tree or something.

I'm feeling the pressure...

Ok, so I know a ton of people that have blogs, and for the most part I find them hysterical. I read peoples that I don't even know just because they are freaking funny. How pathetic. I need a life. Now that I have more access to a computer I will try and share the crazier parts of my life ( like how I help  lady at the bank that smells like she has been rolling around in a big bin of reptiles, she always comes to ME! Sick...I'll tell you more later). But I believe I'm feeling a little bit of pressure as I'm computer illiterate. Welcome to the age of computers Courtney the hair stylist! I will try and share!
